Celebrate Frederick Douglas in your library with our new History Lives poster and bookmark!

Known as an abolitionist, author, orator, editor and women’s suffragist, Frederick Douglas is an historical icon in the African American community and beyond. He started his life as a slave and fought hard to educate himself and learn to read and write. He was the first African-American Vice Presidential candidate in 1872 and fought tirelessly for equal rights for all, regardless of race or gender.

"As my legacy of 'quiet strength' passes to the youth of this nation... I am very confident that we shall overcome."

Add this beautiful image to your library, school, or book store and watch people stop and read her words. A lovely poster and a great tool for discussing Rosa Parks’ impact on the civil rights movement for all ages.
